The Factory Number is now the Workplace Number

From 19 February 2010, all factories will use the new Workplace Number for all factory licence transactions with the Ministry of Manpower. Click on “Check your Workplace Number” link below and key in your Factory Number to retrieve your Workplace Number.
Factories can find their Factory number from the following sources On your current Certificate of Registration (CR) and On the letter from the Ministry addressed to all factory owners in early February 2010. Alternatively, you may also contact us at 6438 5122 for assistance.

What is the Workplace Number?

  • The Workplace Number will replace the current factory number used for identifying companies and factories in transactions (such as factory or statutory equipment registration) with the Ministry of Manpower. This will be effective starting on 19 February 2010.
  • The current Factory Number is a string of 10 alpha-numeric characters, e.g. B12345C001. The new Workplace Number will take on the format: Unique Entity Number (UEN) + 4 digits e.g. 123456789A0001.

How does it affect my factory?

  • Transactions that were previously using Factory Numbers will now use Workplace Numbers include:
  • Updating, Renewal and Termination of factory records; Registration and maintenance of Statutory Equipment records; and Incident Reporting.
  • Staff and Professionals, e.g Authorised Examiners performing these transactions need to be informed on the change and the workplace numbers.

My current Certificate of Registration is identified by the Factory Number.

How do I update my certificate?

With the change to workplace number, you will be able to access and print the updated Certificate of Registration online via the OBLS enquiry function. Your SingPass and the Workplace Number is required for access
